Outreach

The Universite de Montréal is committed to encouraging young scientists to pursue studies in science.  This is in part done by running free week-long summer camps in chemistry, physics, and computer science that are organize by the Faculty of Arts of Sciences during the summer months.  More than 70 CEGEP students per year participate in the camps.  UdeM also runs a free outreach program that sensitizes young scientists from secondary levels to research and possible science careers.  More than 500 students have participated in these week long hands-on workshops. 

École Polytechnique also runs a FolieTechnique hands-on summer camps to introduce young students to  engineering fields. Some 20,000 youngsters have participated in them camps. UdeM also runs a partnership program where 10 select CEGEP students do a four seek intern in a chemistry lab to encourage them to pursue undergraduate studies in chemistry, physics, and computer science.  This is joing venture between the Faculty of Sciences and Montreal CEGEPS.
